Care for the Course and Etiquete Tips
As the governing body of golf, the USGA recognizes the value in providing guidelines on the manner in which the game should be played so that all golfers may receive maximum enjoyment.
Each month Starfire Golf Club's Tournament Club will be featuring a new section of the USGA pamphlet designed to provide practical information for USGA Members on the basic essentials to golf course maintenance as well as etiquette fundamentals.
Frost Issues
(December)
-
On average, a group of four takes 5,000 footsteps on the green surface alone; therefore, it is important to remember the efects those footsteps have on the course.
-
Avoid walking on frost covered greens as it causes unpredictable damage.
-
Be patient with delayed starting times as it is helping the conditioin of the greens to wait for frost to melt.
